Tirdas
I woke up early and checked the back-pack I had bought from Lucan was balanced correctly, this would make taking loot from bandit's easier, plus I could carry a change of clothing and food.
The mist was still heavy on the ground when I left. My arm's and shoulders had a slight ache in them, from helping Hod at the mill. I was not used to that kind of manual labor, but the coin would come in handy and Hod and Gurder's good graces would be worth more.
********
I made it to Whiterun by noon and stopped by the Smith and asked what new item's she might have. I was in luck, she had gotten a pair of boots with a good shock resist on them, but that is as far as my luck held. The only light armor she had was, well not to my liking.
I headed up to see Farengar and gave him the Dragonstone and met the Lady that had given him the information about it's location. I marked her voice for later, as she kept he hood far down and face inverted. The did a little business with Farengar, basically giving him back the "reward" money that he had given me, I bought two ranged spells.
About the time I was going to leave and I cursed myself later for not slipping out, Irielith came and told Farengar that a dragon had been spotted by the Western Watchtower, I was "invited" to come along as well. The Jarl listened to a guards description of what was happening and then told Irielith to take some more guards and go, but also asked that I go along, as the only person to have survived a dragon attack.
His reward was met with a smile, this time, another set of bracers with a better enchant for archery. I might just need them, my magic was not strong and I had not had time to study my new ranged spells.
I followed Irielith and the guards to the watchtower and... saw the dragon coming, I fought the best I could, but the the few potions and enchants I had were not up to the dragon's fiery breath...
How am I writing this if I met my demise? Well that is a different part of the story and will have to wait.

Tirdas the 21st of Last Seed & Middas 22nd of Last Seed, 4E, 201
Tirdas........
I again went to all the vendors looking for items that would be of interest and not a thing. I decided to head to Riverwood and head up to The Barrow to get the Wizards Stone. I went up and talked to him again and told him I would be leaving in an hour and decided to buy the spells I needed.
I knew they would pay for themselves in the long run, but Farengar put a higher price on them than Belethor did his sisters. I chose the lesser of some of the spells, I'm not truly a mage, I just choose to use spells when needed. I did look longingly at the tome for true invisibility, but that would be the only spell I could cast so, I gave it a pass...for now at least.
I headed out with a female warrior, who I had heard was also heading for Riverwood. Uthgerd and I had a nice gossip and I found out much about the resident's of Whiterun. Just the kind of thing that a thief needs to know. I nodded now and then and asked questions about various families, nothing to personal and nothing about their wealth.
Middas....
I am not sure what I got myself into, this barrow reeks of death. The bandit's were hard enough, but then the dead decided to wake and attack as well. Thankfully the Muffle and Chameleon spells worked just as well on the dead as the living.
Their had been more bandit's at a watch tower before the barrow than I had expected and I felt a wrench in my heart when I had to shoot a dog that the bandit's had on watch. Two of the dead proved much harder than all the others, but in the end, my summoned skeletal warrior gave me just the edge I needed.
I made it back to Riverwood by late afternoon and sold off a lot of loot and found that the Dragon Claw Key was owned in fact by Lucan, I gave it to him in return for a few hundred gold, knowing I would be stealing it back. I flirted a little with his sister, but she already had two men on her string.
I lucked out Lucan had just gotten in a few trinkets and one of them had an enchantment on it that I recognized as for Pick-pocketing, he said that Ivor also have some new items and I picked up a set of bracers that had an enchantment that would improve my archery skill.
I left both vendor's with the majority of my gold and went to Hod and Gurder's to spend the night, I would ask at the Inn if they had a bounty job I could take, I would need the gold to get to Riften, where I might get real job's.

19 th & 20 th of Last Seed, 4E 201
I had decided over-night to stay in Whiterun for a day or so, do some bounty work and practice my craft. I asked about work and got a bounty for a nearby bandit den. That was the work of half a day and most of that was just getting there. I made a mental note to myself that i might actually need a horse and not a stolen one.
I found an overhang that some bandit's where using to stash goods til they could be taken elsewhere. It seemed to me this would be a great way to test out my skills in the open. I sneaked up as close as I dared, but only saw one bandit and what appeared to be a ghost. I caste a fury spell and sure enough, the living bandit attacked the ghostly one and I saw no other bandit's.
Just in case I cautiously made my way down to the overhang and took everything of value I could find, placing them on the horse that was next to the cart, I wouldn't keep him, just ride him into town, he'd find his way back. I picked the lock on a chest and about the time I was placing the last item's in a bag, I heard voices coming toward the overhang... time to scoot.
One of the bandit's saw me and I caste a familiar spell as a distraction and mounted the horse, tying the sack to the saddle and then cantering away. Actually I made a big circle, as I saw a Imperial Patrol close by. I drew the bandit's close and sure enough, the Imperials attacked the bandits and I helped with my bow.
I rode towards the watchtower and got there in time to shoot a few more bandit's and loot their corpses, I really needed the gold or I would have left them be. I had to chase the horse down as he was already walking away.
****************
Back in town, I sold off all the loot that I could and then went to the tavern to take a nap, when dark fall's I will be out again, pick-pocketing whoever seems easiest.
Just for the practice mind, I looted one arrow from each of the guards and some ale from a drunk, I sat on the wall and drank the ale and then took the arrow's to the guard house and placed them with another guard.
The two maids in Dragonsreach each got a couple of gold septims, which I though they could use, every woman likes a few extra gold, to by something pretty.
I did pretty much the same thing the next day, checking out the vendor's at the end of each day to see if anyone had brought in any new item's of interest. Flirting with the bar maids and the lovely Lady that sold fruits and vegetables.

Morndas, 18th of Last Seed, 4E 201
It seemed my luck had completely run out as I was forced to place my head on a chopping block, the blood from the previous Nord, still warm and metallic tasting on the air. Then out of the sky the last thing anyone would expect, a dragon, a huge black dragon.
A blast of his voice knocked the headsman out, I was flattened and on the verge of blacking out. The huge blond Nord, shook me and said this would be our last chance, I needed to get up. I did, though my vision was blurry, I followed him as best I could, my tied up hands not helping with my already sketchy balance.
The next hour was a blur of running and ducking, we made it out of Helgen through a cave system. It took the better part of the afternoon to get to Ralof's home in Riverwood, the sun was setting as we met with his sister and she invited us into her home.
Gerdur asked if I would take word to the Jarl in Whiterun of the dragon's attack on Helgen. Ralof reminded her what we had just been through and she said tomorrow would be soon enough and that she would give me some supplies to take along.
The next morning I was gone before the light of dawn and yet, I followed an Imperial Patrol with a prisoner into Whiterun. I felt sorry for the man, but I did not even have a good bow, I shadowed along behind them using them for protection.
I made a detour when I noticed a horse and some fighting up on the hill. When I got their it seemed that the Bandit had defeated the mage that was now laying in the road, but he turned his attention to me. He was already wounded or I don't think my two iron arrows with mild poison would have done any good. I looted the armor from his body, it was no good to me, being heavy and made of bone and some other stiff material. I loaded up his gear and the few things the mage had onto the horse and then road it down to the river and hunted along it for a little while, getting in some target practice and collecting herbal ingredients that I hoped the Alchemist might want.
Khajiit were camped outside of the town and I checked out their ware's, though they had nothing that I needed at that time. The gate guard was reluctant to let me in, I told him that Gurder in Riverwood was asking for the Jarl's aide and he let me go on through. I took special note as I would not want to be on the receiving end of his huge war hammer, his watch might not be the one that I wanted to run out the gate in an emergency.
I stopped in at the smith, but she did not have a bow that was better than the one that I already had, she did however point me to the Tavern across the way and said that the Owner and his brother we also hunters and made bows and perhaps they would have one that suited me better.
He only had one that was better, I would have preferred a crossbow, but I knew that probably would not be something that I could buy outright. I would have to have some black-market contact's to get me one. That meant the trip to Riften would need to happen soon.
I talked to the Jarl, who thanked me for bringing him the news and gave me a set of heavy armor as a reward. I began to wonder if that was all the Nords wore, I really needed a better set of light armor. He then asked if I would talk to his Wizard, who wanted me to go into an ancient barrow to retrieve some stone. I told them I would have to properly prepared which might take a little while...umm never maybe, well no, I needed the good will of the Jarl so.
I went to the kitchen to ask the cook for a bowl of stew or something, but no one was there, so I fixed myself some. I also found a couple of items that I wanted, but I would need a place to stash them. Three item's in this town so far, but the ship, that I wanted. I left it where it was, it would be noted that I had been there and it had went missing, but she would be mine.
I made my way to the Inn and flirted with the barmaids, they were both comely, but it seemed that neither was interested in me, though I did catch a mercenary woman looking my way more than once. I would remember her for my next trip into town.

Sundas, 17th of Last Seed, 4E 201
Today is not a good day to die and quite frankly I really am not looking forward to my execution. What did I do to get on this cart? I crossed the border at the wrong time and in the wrong place. What did I cross the border for, well my friend, to get away from the Imperial guards.
My name is Lucien, but my friends call me Luc, sometimes Lucky...which generally I am. So where did my luck run out? You might think it was when the Thieves Guild hide out in the Imperial City was raided by the Imperial City Guards, but no, not for me, I wasn't there. As it happened I was on the roof of a building near by with a Lady.
The guards quickly let us be when they realized who it was that was on the roof and I don't mean myself. I'm surprised her scream didn't rouse the gang, but no, most of them are in jail or dead. I left the next day, in a guise of a merchant I traveled across the whole of Cyrodiil and had no problems.
I Knew I was ahead of any rumor of the raid and I planned on going to Riften and checking in the with Thieves Guild there. Which lead's me to where my luck went bad, at the border, it's like all the luck I have ever had was reversed.
My horse threw a shoe, so I was afoot. Bandit's did not recognize the thieves guild signs and I had to fight, then run from them. Thankfully I am very good at being a cat burgler, so out of sight I climbed a tree. I woke to find a bunch of soldiers in blue camped under the tree, my first move alerted them all. They dragged me out of the tree, just in time for Imperial soldiers to come rushing into the camp.
So that is how I ended up on this cart, headed for an execution. If my luck has not completely deserted me, I will get out of this also.
